Make people who are Registered Blind exempt from PIP reassessments

Petition Details

A recent review of PIP was intended to ensure that individuals with the most 'severe disabling conditions' are never again called for reassessments. However, being 'Registered Blind' is not classed as one and such people are therefore not exempt from reassessments.

Additional Information

We therefore believe that this is a breach of the Equality Act 2010, which Parliament passed so that the Government could not apply a rule like this that disadvantages these individuals who share a protected characteristic i.e. disability; and we call upon the Government to make being Registered Blind a lifelong disability which is exempt from PIP reassessments.
