Protect Children Online: Require ID for Social Media Accounts
“Introduce legislation requiring social media platforms to verify users with government-issued ID (such as a passport or driving licence) to prevent fake accounts, underage access, child grooming, and to support criminal investigations.”
“Social media currently allows anonymous and fake accounts, enabling child grooming, underage access, harassment, and repeat offending. Requiring government-issued ID would reduce fake profiles, protect children, improve accountability, and help law enforcement investigate serious online crimes while keeping personal details private.”
