Ban individuals convicted of terror or hate offences from holding public office
Introduce legislation preventing anyone convicted of terrorism offences or hate‑motivated crimes from standing in local elections or holding any public office or local elections.
People convicted of terrorism or hate‑motivated offences pose a risk to public trust and democratic integrity. Those who have promoted violence, extremism, or hatred should not be permitted to represent communities or hold public authority. Clear rules are needed to protect public safety and confidence.
