Petition Action

Scrap the underoccupancy charge for public housing

Petition Details

Scrap the underoccupancy charge (also known as the bedroom tax), for low income families, for the sick disabled and unemployed.

Additional Information

We believe the bedroom tax is totally unfair because it puts a strain on peoples low finances and those wishing to move down to a smaller property where there isn’t any. It’s an unfair tax that people can’t afford to pay.

It can impact on disabled people the most if they need an extra room but yet people still feel punished for being disabled but yet get their benefits reduced. How is that fair?
