Stop individuals with Terrorism Convictions from Standing in UK Local Elections
I am calling on the UK Government to close this loophole and introduce clear legislation preventing anyone with a terrorism conviction from standing in local elections.
Public office requires the highest levels of trust, integrity and public confidence. Allowing individuals with terrorism convictions to run for elected positions undermines that trust and poses an unacceptable risk to democratic institutions.
