Review the use of retrospective rule changes by the Home Office

Petition Details

Consider whether the Home Office should have the authority to bring forward any proposals or rules with Retrospective effect. If this practise is fair? And once a precedent is set, who stops the Home Office from exercising their powers over and over again affecting thousands of families.

Additional Information

We believe the recent Immigration White Paper 2025 is more Authoritarian rather than Humanitarian. There are concerns that if this goes through once, future governments will do this as well and there will be No Stopping of rules applied in Retrospection. We think the Home office is mixing Illegal migration with Legal Tax payers who came here with a set of rules, that if followed had a clear goal post.
