Maintain current fireworks regulations and the 120dB maximum noise limit
Keep current firework laws and the 120dB limit. Existing rules balance tradition, safety, and public joy. We believe that further noise cuts are unnecessary and would harm the UK firework industry and businesses.
The current 120dB limit is strictly regulated and fits outdoor celebrations. Dropping this to 90dB would effectively ban rockets and traditional displays, ruining the sensory experience the public expects. We believe such restrictions would devastate the industry and seasonal retailers. Instead of punishing responsible users, authorities should focus on enforcing existing laws against misuse. Since low-noise fireworks are already available, market choice should prevail over a restrictive blanket mandate.
