Government to support the Artificial Intelligence (Regulation) Bill [HL]
I want the Government to support the Bill proposed by Lord Holmes on the regulation of Artificial Intelligence. AI is Already Impacting, yet key questions around data use, liability, copyright, safety standards and transparency remain unresolved. If passed, the Bill will help with this.
We believe this lack of resolution is bad for trust, bad for competitiveness, and bad for the UK’s ambition to lead in responsible AI. “Wait and see” isn’t a strategy. If the UK Govt wants growth, trust and sovereign capability, we believe we need to move from confusion to clarity, consistency and coherence and enable meaningful, sustained public engagement and participation, as citizen, consumer, creative, cross-society, cross-business. Such an approach is far more likely to deliver legislation fit for the AI age. Our data, our decisions, our AI futures.
If you want to sign this petition (as opposed to merely discuss it), you need to do that on the government's e-Petitions website.
