Raise the Expense rates for salary Sacrifice Electric Vehicles
We ask Government to raise the expense rate for public EV charging on salary sacrifice vehicles, as we believe the current 14p per mile is unrealistic as public charging costs continue to rise, leaving drivers out of pocket simply for doing their jobs. Fair rates are essential.
The Government has in our view mistakenly classified Salary Sacrifice cars as company vehicles, restricting mileage expense claims to HMRC mandated company car rates of 7p for home charging and 14p for Public Charging. Unlike conventional company cars, salary sacrifice employees cover the lease, maintenance, insurance, and BIK tax, while employers only cover minimal admin costs. We think treating them the same penalises drivers for choosing greener transport and risks discouraging EV uptake.
If you want to sign this petition (as opposed to merely discuss it), you need to do that on the government's e-Petitions website.
