Cyclists to be licenced, registered to be on the road and have insurance

Petition Details

1 All adults cyclists to have some kind of registration for their bikes like other road users
2 All adult cyclists to have valid insurance while on the road just like other road users
3 Cycling test to raise safety awareness and while on the road
4 Fines to be issued for not complying with this

Additional Information

1. To help identify cyclists that cause accidents and ride away.
2. To help prevent accidents by ensuring appropriate road awareness courses are completed by cyclists.
3. Making cyclists accountable while on the road like those in cars, motor bikes and other vehicles.
4. Potentially help with insurance cost as you may be able to claim on a cyclists insurance in the case of an accident, instead of your own.
5. Fines and or some kind of points system for non compliance of cyclists
