Petition Action

Require pay transparency and ban statutory rights as job benefits

Petition Details

Require legislation compelling employers and recruitment agencies to publish pay or salary ranges in job adverts, and prohibit listing statutory minimum entitlements, such as 28 days annual leave or PPE provision, as employee “benefits”.

Additional Information

Many job adverts list basic statutory rights, such as minimum annual leave or legally required protections, as employee “benefits”, which can be misleading. Some adverts also omit pay information entirely, wasting applicants’ time. Requiring salary transparency and preventing legal minimums from being marketed as perks could improve fairness, reduce ambiguity and support informed decision-making for jobseekers.
