Urgently fix the issue of having to wait 6 months to book/rebook a driving test.
Put measures in place to enable people to be able to book or rebook their driving test within a 4 to 6 week period. This can be achieved by making the service available for longer hours, for 7 days a week, adding more instructors & centres & by prioritising the improvement of this essential service.
The current practical driving test system is broken. In most of the UK it is impossible to book a driving test within a reasonable time period. Asking people to go online at 6am on a Monday to try to find a test or book another test for 6 months time is grossly unfair to new drivers, mainly young people who typically need a driving licence to be able to progress with their careers. This limits young peoples ability to progress their lives & is compounded by the 2 year validity of theory tests.
