Make it mandatory for VED (road tax) to be spent on road maintenance and repairs
Make it law for VED to be spent adequately on maintaining and improving the quality of the roads on which we drive in order to improve the quality of journeys.
The quality of roads (and their repairs) have declined massively in recent years and many repairs aren't carried out due to "insufficient allowance in the budget." The state of the roads often leads to irreparable (or expensive) damages to vehicles, and sometimes even injuries, particularly for vulnerable road-users (motorcyclists, pedal cyclists, etc) and affects the quality of driving. Repairing roads could lead to a much more tolerable and safe driving experience for most.
