Student loans must be more lenient and accessible to our youth
We would like the government to reconsider: the threshold at which student loans begin to be repaid; the interest paid on student loans; and the number of years until student loans are written off.
The loans students take are unforgiving and limit who can begin to consider a university education. Additionally, the USA's recent hostility towards university students has toppled the world’s leading education hub; for the UK, this presents an opportunity. With world-class universities already, a more inviting student loan programme may propel the best talent into the best institutions. A reassessment of student loans benefits the UK's youth and the nation’s interests on an international stage.
