Petition Action

Provide free travel on London Transport for Healthcare students

Petition Details

For all student nurses, physios, occupational therapists, midwives, speech therapists etc to be given free travel passes on London Transport

Additional Information

Currently Healthcare students are university based and have to travel to hospitals across London to go to training placements.
A recent survey showed students are struggling financially due to the cost of travel and are going without meals to fund the travel costs, some only affording one hot meal a week.
Given the vacancy factor in the NHS and the fact that the Police and London transport worker travel for free, it should be petitioned to have the same for student nurses.
