Petition Action

I would like for the challenge 25 law to change.

Petition Details

I would like for a change to be made regarding Challenge 25. Me and other young people shouldn't be expected to carry ID around constantly when it comes to purchasing things such as medication. Its a unrealistic idea that I can not buy paracetamol as an 24 year old because i don't have ID on me.

Additional Information

I expect and want the Government to abandon that ide and implement new laws regarding products like that. If a label says that a product is for adults and children over 12, why should I provide an ID when I'm clearly over 12 if not double the recommended age. Not everyone has an ID on them constant and only thing this rule does is inconvenience members of the public.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Challenge 25 is not a law or government scheme in England and Wales. Decisions about whether to adopt a Challenge 25 approach are a matter for individual businesses, not the UK Government or Parliament.
