Only ban social media for under 13s or restrict certain apps
Many apps such as tik tok are 13+ this proves that the app has many restrictions to stop people younger, Roblox has done that by using Face ID to estimate age and stop you from chatting to people older or younger than you.
Many kids are homeschooled and/or have friends from another country or region. They may use social media to chat to them as there is no other way. Social media helps people connect and meet friends with the same interest as you. Some kids may have an excessive screen time because they’re afraid of going out and staying in makes them feel safer. They could feel safer talking to people who they don’t know rather than having to talk to people who may judge or bully them and have no escape.
