Fund more adult-free spaces for under 16s so they feel safe
I propose that the government create more safe places for teens to socialise and have fun without feeling as though they're at risk. Places such as youth clubs, parks, etc with professional adult supervision but no access to strangers.
We think social media is one of the biggest problems for teen mental health but that it is also the biggest solution. Children often find that the safest place to socialise is online because they have no other safe spaces to turn to as there is no other place they can go without risk. Many local parks are seen as dodgy and unsafe, and many under 16s don't feel safe on public transport either. Creating more local youth clubs and safe spaces could fix this.
If you want to sign this petition (as opposed to merely discuss it), you need to do that on the government's e-Petitions website.
