Reform legal processes to protect homebuyers

Petition Details

We call on the Government to reform procedures relating to buying and selling homes, to protect the buyers and stop sellers selling their homes in a bad state. This could include introducing penalties for breaches like not vacating the house when agreed and providing incorrect information.

Additional Information

We do not believe there are adequate protections for house buyers, whilst the sellers can do and get away with breaching contract and leaving the house in a disgusting terrible state and nothing can be done. There should be more protection for the person buying the home, similar rules to when renting, like having an independent review of the state of the home being sold.
