Cap yearly increases in rent, social housing rent and council tax
Many people face yearly increases in rent, social housing rent and council tax while wages do not keep pace. These essential costs are unavoidable and rising housing expenses are causing financial hardship and insecurity for households across the UK.
I believe increases should be capped, linked to wage growth, or subject to an affordability test before approval. Housing is a basic necessity, and stronger safeguards are needed to prevent households being priced out of secure and stable living.
