Launch a public inquiry into how public funds are spent in education
Call on the Minister for Education to launch a public inquiry under the Inquiries Act. We would like an independent group to assess the proportion of money that is allocated to education that reaches the front line, be it teachers, support staff or resources provided to APs, virtual schools etc.
We are highly concerned that money is being wasted and before any more investment, we think it wise for the Government to determine where this money is best spent. We believe Multi-Academy Trusts are wasting money on complex back-office staffing structures. It has been reported that many private companies are making large profits from the public sector.
It has also been reported that private SEND schools charging in excess of £100k, and that taxi firms are making large profits driving SEND children to school. Supply agencies providing teachers and tutors are making profit.
If you want to sign this petition (as opposed to merely discuss it), you need to do that on the government's e-Petitions website.
