Petition Action

We oppose and ask for re-consultation on the 'schools white paper 2026'

Petition Details

We ask the UK government to reconsult on the changes proposed in the schools white paper 2026, particularly in relation to SEND

The white paper has exposed significant problems with legal protections of support for children with SEND, issues around children losing EHCP's and parental choice

Additional Information

On 23/02/26 the government published its schools white paper.

We have significant concerns about children losing EHCP's, children being forced into mainstream environments, parents and families losing legal protections around support of their child and families losing the right to choose which school their child can attend. We also have concerns about these children being reassessed and forced into environments that cause harm

We demand a full reconsultation that listens to families properly

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There is already a consultation on the measures related to SEND in the Schools White Paper.
