Pause NHS Children's Therapy Team redundancies and review consultation process
We ask Parliament to urgently review the proposed redundancies within the Children’s Community Therapy Teams in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. The consultation process must be paused and independently reviewed, with formal inclusion of families whose children rely on these services.
Children accessing these services include those with complex medical needs, dysphagia, neurodevelopmental conditions and physical disabilities. Community SALT, OT and Physio prevent hospital admissions, support education settinga and reduce reliance on crisis services. Removing specialist clinicians will increase long-term public cost and place vulnerable children at risk. Early intervention prevents preventable harm and reduces the risk of avoidable mortality.
