Extend business rates relief to gyms and fitness centres.
Gyms and fitness centres support public health and reduce pressure on the NHS, yet they have not received the targeted business rates discount given to pubs and live music venues. We urge the Government to extend the same additional relief to gyms.
Gyms and fitness centres improve physical and mental health, reduce pressure on the NHS, and support local jobs. Unlike pubs and live music venues, they have not received targeted business rates discounts beyond standard transitional relief. Rising property-based rates risk closures and higher membership costs. We urge the Government to extend the same additional rates and support to gyms to ensure fair treatment and protect community health.
