Commit to building the Aylesbury Spur of East West Rail now.
Provide immediate funding and a fixed start date for the Aylesbury-Milton Keynes section of East West Rail. The "Aylesbury Spur" must be restored to the core project plan to ensure our town isn't left as a dead-end with outdated diesel trains.
The town of Aylesbury is currently being treated as a "dead-end" in the UK’s rail strategy. While the Government and East West Rail (EWR) Company celebrate the progress of the Oxford-to-Milton Keynes link, the vital Aylesbury-to-Milton Keynes "spur" has been sidelined into "passive provision." This is a failure of planning that leaves a town of over 90,000 people isolated from one of the UK’s fastest-growing economic hubs.
