Make food establishments put the total of carbohydrates in a meal on the menu.
I would like the government to make it a requirement for food establishments to put the carbohydrate counts on the menu next to each meal like calories are.
I am type 1 diabetic who carb counts for my insulin. This means I have a set amount of insulin to a set amount of carbohydrates eaten. I find this hard when I go out for a meal as I do not know how many carbs are in the meal, this could mean if I have too much insulin I would go into hypoglycaemia and could end up in a coma, or I have not enough insulin and go into hyperglycaemia and could get ketones in my blood and be ill. This would benefit most diabetics and help us control our condition.
