Restore UK visa pathways for Afghan students and workers, prioritising women
Afghan students and workers, especially girls and women, face Taliban bans on education and social participation. We urge the Government to restore and expand safe, transparent visa pathways for Afghan applicants, with time-bound routes, dedicated scholarships, and non-discriminatory processing.
Afghanistan’s Taliban regime bans education and social participation for girls and women, reversing decades of progress and threatening the rights and safety of Afghan families. The UK’s leadership in education and humanitarian protection requires safe, transparent, time-bound visa routes and scholarships for Afghan students and workers, with non-discriminatory processing and regular progress updates. This strengthens human rights, supports regional stability and upholds UK values for equality.
