Reinstate study visas for Sudanese students and fully protect their education
The UK suspended Sudanese study visas citing a surge in asylum claims. However, we believe most students are genuine and law-abiding. We think this blanket ban denies education, punishes lawful students, and disrupts futures. Parliament must reinstate visas and protect students’ right to study.
The Home Office imposed a visa brake after student asylum claims surged 470% between 2021 2025. Although intended to prevent misuse, we think this measure punishes the majority of lawful students, blocks safe education, harms academic and professional futures, and raises serious human rights concerns. Parliament must reinstate study visas and introduce targeted safeguards to prevent abuse without restricting genuine students.
