Issue defence bonds

Petition Details

Government to issue defence bonds to support defence spending to boost recruitment, improve retention and manufacture materiel. In our view national defence aspirations are cut by a lack of investment in defence. As a veteran I reflect aghast at how the RN has shuffled diminished & become hamstrung.

Additional Information

All government departments put competing demands on the public purse and I think social projects always seem to triumph. In my view, a society blind to the geopolitical and antagonist risks that threaten our security and interests, cogent appeals and socialisation by our military elite are ignored and the governments’ inaction, simply wastes time. Notwithstanding the evolution of warfare, we will always need personal and hardware to project our values.
I think bonds will provide a ring fenced fund to kickstart the process NOW.
