Enshrine in Law Access to Hormone Replacement Therapy for Transgender Adults
It has been reported that NHS England is to lead a review into the ‘effectiveness’ of medications for Trans adults. The Government should commit to enshrining the right to medical care for Trans Adults in line with the scientific research that supports Transition.
A review into the effectiveness of HRT for Trans adults has been reported following the pause of prescription of bridging hormones for 16-17 year olds after the Equality and Health Inequalities Impact Assessment (EHIA) concluded that evidence for their effectiveness was ‘weak’. We take into account professional and academic dispute of the validity of study and thus dispute these findings. We are concerned that this report could aim to support a conclusion already decided.
If you want to sign this petition (as opposed to merely discuss it), you need to do that on the government's e-Petitions website.
