“Value Unpaid Carers: End Poverty, Give Fair Pay for 1.2 Million UK Carers”
“The government must properly value unpaid carers by increasing Carer’s Allowance or providing direct payments that match professional care wages. Recognise the vital work of 1.2 million carers, end poverty, and ensure financial, emotional, and practical support for all.”
“Unpaid carers provide essential 24/7 care for loved ones, saving the UK billions every year, yet 1.2 million live in poverty. Many sacrifice their health, income, and wellbeing. The government must act to properly value carers with fair financial support, training, and recognition, ending poverty and acknowledging their vital contribution to society.”
