Petition Action

Introduce a healthcare worker tax relief scheme for NHS and supporting staff.

Petition Details

Introduce a tax relief scheme for NHS healthcare workers and private staff supporting NHS services, including higher tax-free allowances, reduced National Insurance, and tax-free overtime to improve retention, recruitment and morale.

Additional Information

Healthcare workers provide vital services but face increasing financial pressure during workforce shortages. Many are paid from publicly funded services yet are taxed on those earnings. The Government should introduce a healthcare worker tax relief scheme including higher tax-free allowances, reduced National Insurance contributions, and tax-free overtime for NHS employees and private or contracted staff supporting NHS services.
