Mandate independent inspections for government-funded retrofit schemes
Mandate independent on-site inspections for government-funded home insulation and retrofit schemes to ensure installations meet standards, protect consumers, and safeguard public funding.
Some previous government insulation schemes included independent inspections to identify poor-quality installations and ensure defects were corrected. However we feel concerns about installation quality have increased. Mandatory independent inspections would help protect consumers, ensure public funding delivers value and improve confidence in retrofit programmes.
