Enable parent/child parking spaces to have a temporary badge to allow parking
Since becoming a mum in October 2025, I have continuously struggled to park safely with my baby.
I have now, on several occasions, been denied access to a parent/child safe space due to adults without children with them parking there instead due to closeness to the shops.
Whilst feeding my baby one day, I observed seven different adults leave/return their cars without children in about 15 mins.
These spaces are there to provide adequate access to car seats, to allow space for prams without risking damaging other cars or having to put a stationary pram in the way of moving vehicles while getting your child out the car.
Several of my mum friends have also noticed that these spaces are getting abused and are putting parents and children at risk on a regular basis.
