Lower the age for Cervical Screenings from 25 to 21

Petition Details

Lower the NHS cervical screening starting age from 25 to 21, a change that we believe could save numerous lives and spare families from devastating loss.
The NHS currently recommends cervical screening starting at the age of 25. However, some countries begin screening at 21.

Additional Information

Cervical cancer is a significant health issue affecting women globally. According to Cancer Research UK, there were around 3,200 new cervical cancer cases in the UK in 2017, and the incidence rate has been increasing, especially among younger women. Statistics reveal that about 400 new cases of cervical cancer develop in women under the age of 25 in the UK each year. Early detection through screening is critical, and lowering the cervical screening age from 25 to 21 could save lives.
