Review the Shaping Care Together Consultation, West Lancashire
Review this decision and look at the consultation and the duties of its members/Review the immediate and future provisions for 24 hour urgent and emergency care in the West Lancashire area (they are already stretched, not a 24-hour service, is currently not fit for purpose)/Review transport to A&E.
This is a significant service change for Mersey & West Lanc's NHS Trust. The proposal is to co‑locate adult and children’s A&E at a single hospital site at Southport Hospital as a combined adult and children's A&E, removing A&E provisions for Ormskirk Hospital and West Lancashire.
The decision of the ICB flows directly from early design choices which shaped the range of options that were realistically available before public consultation began. No option of having A&E provisions at both sites.
