Petition Action

Pause student loan repayments during Armed Forces Service & clear debt after

Petition Details

We want the Government to suspend student loan repayments for people who join HM Armed Forces or the Royal Fleet Auxiliary, with remaining debt cleared after the required term of service.

Additional Information

We want this because student debt can be a barrier to joining. Suspending repayments during service and clearing remaining debt after the required term would make service more attractive, improve recruitment and retention, reduce financial pressure, and encourage more serving personnel to take up education.
