Start Meningitis B vaccine catch-up for all teenagers and young adults
I call on the U.K. government to introduce a Meningitis B catch-up vaccination scheme for all teenagers and young adults at university.
The Men B vaccine was introduced
for babies in 2015. Teenagers & young adults who are at great risk from this deadly disease have not been eligible
My brother died from Men B at 16. Now there is a vaccine available for this Men B this should be provided to all teenagers & young adults to prevent death or permanent disability. No family should have to go through what we went through.
Men B accounts for 86.2% of cases of meningitis in the U.K. and was the cause of all meningococcal disease cases in 15 to 19 year olds in 2024/25. It has a death rate of 10%
