Require the Prime Minister to give relevant answers during PMQ's.
We want the Government to support changes to Parliamentary rules so the Prime Minister must give answers during Prime Minister’s Questions that are directly relevant to the question asked.
Prime Minister’s Questions should be a genuine tool for holding the Prime Minister to account.
PMQs is meant to hold the Prime Minister to account, but many answers fail to address the actual question and instead move onto unrelated talking points. We believe the rules should be changed so answers must be relevant to the question, with the Speaker given stronger powers to require proper responses. This would improve honesty, accountability and public trust in Parliament.
