Fund research into improving maternal health outcomes for black women in the UK
We are calling for the Government to increase funding into research focused on maternal health outcomes for black women, including improved data collection and transparency around maternal outcomes.
We must ensure all women receive equal, safe, and respectful care during pregnancy and childbirth. Black women in the UK are more likely to experience serious complications during pregnancy and childbirth, as well as being at higher risk of death, as reported by MBRRACE-UK IN 2024. Reasons include delayed diagnosis, untreated conditions, and poorer care. We believe more research and funding are needed to understand these disparities, improve outcomes, and ensure all women receive safe, equal and timely maternity care.
If you want to sign this petition (as opposed to merely discuss it), you need to do that on the government's e-Petitions website.
