Increase government spending on fixing potholes
Many people in my local area have experienced damage to vehicles due to potholes. Through an online survey in my community, I found that 69.6% of people have experienced damage to their vehicle due to potholes.
I believe that the government should focus on fixing potholes in order to ensure the safety of British citizens, and allow the roads to be safer for everyone. Potholes damage tyres, suspension, and can lead to huge costs. The AA reported over 630,000 breakdowns due to potholes back in 2023, and that number isn’t declining. As a country, we need to focus on the safety of our roads to ensure nobody ends up injured, or even dead, due to our government’s ignorance.
