Abolish council tax replace with a new, fair system for funding local government
Council tax is no longer fit for purpose. Households are paying more each year while many receive declining or poor local services. There are also concerns about rising council costs and lack of accountability.
Taxpayers are being asked to pay more while getting less in return. This has reduced trust in how local services are funded and delivered. We believe the system should be scrapped and replaced with one that ensures fairness, transparency and accountability.Households face rising bills, services worsen or disappear.Concerns over waste,rising council salaries and lack of accountability are growing. The system is broken.
