Reduce tax on alcohol served in pubs.
Reduce VAT and alcohol duty on drinks sold in pubs year-round to support small businesses, protect community pubs, and keep prices affordable for customers. The current tax burden is unsustainable and is forcing closures across the country.
Lower taxes would increase footfall, helping pubs stay open and sustain local jobs. Community pubs bring people together and drive spending in small towns, strengthening local economies and improving wellbeing. High taxes are killing pubs. Closures are accelerating, jobs are being lost, and communities are losing vital social spaces. Without urgent action, many more pubs will disappear, damaging local economies and increasing isolation.
