Change House of Commons procedure so PMQs answers are relevant to the questions
Amend House of Commons procedure for PMQs so answers must be relevant to the question asked, and give the Speaker explicit power to require one further answer where the first reply is non-responsive or substantially unrelated
PMQs should help voters hear clear answers on issues MPs raise on their behalf. It should not mainly be used for rehearsed attacks on the Opposition or replies unrelated to the question. Requiring answers to be relevant would strengthen accountability, improve trust in Parliament and make PMQs a better tool for public scrutiny.
