Prioritise women’s reproductive healthcare and reduce waiting times
Require the Government to increase funding for women’s reproductive healthcare, reduce NHS waiting times for gynaecology services, and improve access to diagnosis and treatment for conditions causing severe menstrual pain.
Women across the UK face long waiting times and barriers when accessing reproductive healthcare. Many report that symptoms, including severe menstrual pain, are often dismissed or not taken seriously, despite sometimes indicating serious conditions.
Conditions such as Endometriosis, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, and Adenomyosis can take years to diagnose. During this time, individuals may experience ongoing pain, reduced quality of life, and disruption to education and employment.
Access to services also varies depending on location, creating inequalities in care. Improving funding, reducing waiting times, and ensuring symptoms are taken seriously would lead to earlier diagnosis, better treatment outcomes, and a more equitable healthcare system.
