Petition Action

Stop the cuts. Bring back summer schemes for special needs schools in NI.

Petition Details

I am calling on the Northern Ireland executive and relevant departments to urgently reinstate funding and provision for Special Educational Needs (SEN), in the form of special school summer schemes. Give our children the support they need, and more importantly the support they deserve.

Additional Information

These schemes provide essential support for children with additional needs and their families during the summer period. Their cancellation places significant strain on families who rely on these. For many, summer schemes are the difference between coping and crisis. They give children with learning disabilities a place where they are understood, supported, and included. Without them, days can become overwhelming, routines disappear, and progress can vanish. They offer rare and vital respite.
