Petition Action

Require the Prime Minister to Directly Answer Questions at Prime Minister’s Q’s.

Petition Details

We call on the Speaker of the House of Commons to take stronger action to ensure that the Prime Minister directly answers questions posed during Prime Minister’s Questions (PMQs), and to hold the Prime Minister accountable when responses are evasive or unrelated.

Additional Information

PMQs is a vital mechanism for democratic scrutiny, allowing elected Members of Parliament to question the Prime Minister on behalf of the public. However, there is growing concern that questions are frequently met with partial, indirect, or non-responsive answers, undermining the purpose of this parliamentary session.

Ensuring that questions receive proper answers would strengthen transparency, improve public trust in Parliament, and reinforce the integrity of democratic processes.
