Petition Action

Review how GPs and A&Es identify paediatric infections

Petition Details

Review whether all GP practices have the necessary paediatric equipment to monitor blood pressure, heart rate and oxygen levels, and whether A&Es routinely use blood tests to screen children for sepsis. I think that ensuring this will save a lot of unnecessary hospital trips.

Additional Information

I feel a lot of the time children are seen by doctors either at the surgery or hospital A&E and told it is viral and there is not a need for medical treatment and some of the time it an infection is missed that requires medical treatment. I therefore think a review should be conducted to investigate this further.
