Abolish Daylight Saving Time in the United Kingdom
We, the undersigned, call on the UK Government to abolish the practice of changing the clocks twice a year.
The current system of switching between Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and British Summer Time (BST) causes unnecessary disruption to daily life.
Many people experience negative effects on their health, including sleep disturbances, fatigue, and reduced productivity. Scientific studies have shown that even a one-hour shift can impact mental and physical well-being.
In addition, the clock changes create confusion for businesses, transportation schedules, and international communication. In today’s modern, globally connected world, this outdated practice no longer serves a meaningful purpose.
