Review and cap increases on Motability advance payments
We ask the Government to review and cap rising Advance Payments on Motability vehicles, ensure suitable vehicles remain affordable, and consider Universal Credit savings limits, to protect disabled people from being priced out of essential mobility.
For disabled people, Motability is a lifeline, not a luxury. Many disabled people rely on it to work, attend medical appointments, and live independently. We are concerned that rising advance payments are making suitable vehicles unaffordable, while benefit rules prevent saving enough to afford them. This can create an impossible situation where people lose access to independence. Forcing disabled people into unsuitable vehicles or off the scheme entirely could risk isolation and hardship.
If you want to sign this petition (as opposed to merely discuss it), you need to do that on the government's e-Petitions website.
